ParticipantI know a rider on 3 Rivers. They have removed riders to compete in the medium size team category.
Should I purge the team of the slackers? Second place Omaha have only 154 participants out of 441 signed up.

ParticipantKlizotte, the contest goes to the end of September. Hope you’re riding again soon. Don’t worry about not contributing points to our team due to injury!

ParticipantI wonder if it’s more of an issue that the people not showing up haven’t logged in to the NBC site this year. There were a lot of sync issues that were fixed by logging out and logging back in.
It also looks like there’s a sync issue for some active people. When I looked today FastFriendlyGuys last ride was showing as two weeks ago although Strava shows him riding every day still.

ParticipantWhy would you purge the team of the slackers? Unless we got below 100 riders, we wouldn’t be in any other team category anyway. And we’re blowing this one away.

Because they aren’t participating.

I’m sure among this big group of n+1 thee is someone who has an appropriately sized bike for you and will be willing to take one for the team.
You’re so right! Within minutes of posting about it, there was a kind offer. Thankfully I have an order in for a replacement from my LBS, so they’ve given me a loaner. I should be back to normal this week!

I’d noticed his absence too! He’s been near the top of the heap of the local rankings for years. I was worried…

I was looking at the top 100 or so WAAS members on the NBC site this morning, and there are many many people who I see riding in person or on strava on a regular basis who haven’t gotten their miles logged in anywhere from 5 days to 3 weeks. I sent FFG a comment, and a few others. Only have today and tomorrow to get your August points to count! Mr. Meatmotor you’re one of them!

So’s Tim Kelley, says he hasn’t logged in over two months?

ParticipantThere were prizes? I thought exercise was its own reward–that and the $250 saved in parking every month.

Guess you’ll have to borrow Rod Smith’s trailer and ride enough trips back and forth to Costco until you have enough TP to build your fort.

ParticipantIt appears I will hit diamond this week, probably Thursday. Congrats to those 34 WAAS who are already there. I salute you.

ParticipantSo what should we do with the award if we win? When we were the BikeAringtion All-Stars we won a nice piece of art work suitable for framing which went to BikeArlington HQ in Rosslyn and may have been hung on a wall there. Last year’s first place award was a Park Tool floor pump that had National Bike Challenge wrote on it (meh). No idea what we will win this year or who should get it. I think Bob James will finish in the top ten individual rider, which is way better than any of us have done in the past. Maybe he should get the award. Other possibilities, WABA, BikeArlington..?
