I had to log out and log back in to the NBC site just now to get the last few days of rides to sync.Man, imagine how many more points you could rack up with a fast new bikey bike. You could name it Bikey McBikeface.

ParticipantOk, so there are only two teams with over 400 riders this year, the Washington DC All Stars and the Omaha Velocity. So far only 187 of the Washington team and 216 if the Omaha team have logged miles during the challenge.

http://store.peopleforbikes.org/collections/apparel/products/national-bike-challenge-t-shirtThat t-shirt design makes my back hurt (why is the rider so slouched over like that?).

ParticipantLooks like a bad ripoff of a very nice artcrank poster by a famous Washingtonian.

Generally when things are so problematic and annoying I just stop doing that thing until someone fixes it… BUT, if in this case logging our miles is so important for the DC region that we should deal with it, I will reconsider.

Who made this? I really like it (especially the fact that the rider looks like she isn’t going to have back problems) and would love to have this on a t-shirt.

Should have Googled it, but it’s Carolyn Sewell.

That jersey is decent, I’d wear it if I won it

It’s not. At this point it’s just kind of habit/tradition. I want to see how much better I did than the year before, but it feels less engaging this year. Rivalry/drama with gainesville had made it kind of interesting. People here were generally more engaged and talking about stats and stuff last year/s. Now I feel kinda sad.

So if you happened to see one of your forum friends wearing that while riding around, would it be like a double 1/8th sighting, once removed?

Yes, it looks pretty close. Except that apparently the NBC folks decided to change the design of their bicycle –maybe to make it more “distinct”? Too bad that they apparently don’t know how to draw a bicycle.

I don’t think a bike would get very far without a seat tube.
