I’ll keep trying and ask for help from the league. Thanks y’all for your assistance!!! Luckily we’ve got time to figure it out.
I see the join button on the WABA Women and Bikes team. Just don’t see it for the Washington Area All-Stars.

ParticipantI’d like to join if you can expand beyond 20 members.

ParticipantA few of us have posted questions on the LAB web forum for how to join teams. Hopefully we’ll get a good answer or two.

ParticipantWe’ve now got a reply that says:
Hi all — the team’s administrator/captain should be able to make the team “private” or “public.” It must be “public” for you to see the join button.
Rod, can you please check and make sure the team is “public,” so that we can go nag them again?

ParticipantSorry it’s private.

ParticipantOK, I changed that, it’s public now. Please try joining again. Sorry about that.
The privacy setting didn’t prevent 19 riders from joining. I guess it was a glitch that they were able to join without invites. The original thought behind making it private was to keep it local. Actually I don’t know what I was thinking. The private/public thing is new this year. I’m having enough trouble getting the local heroes to join (looking at you, SteveE
), I doubt anyone from Gainesville or elsewhere is going to try to jump on the bandwagon! Haha

ParticipantIt looks like someone else has joined, but I still don’t see a join option.

ParticipantMe, either. I have nagged them again. Everyone should please feel free to comment on my post–ones with other people chiming in seem to get more attention.

Does anyone know how to delete your account? I couldn’t find anything on the site, and I’ve decided that I don’t really give a toss about this. I ride year-round anyway, and I don’t want to do the silly insane sync shenanigans.

If you would like to remove yourself from the National Bike Challenge, please send an email to our national administrator: Alison@bikeleague.org“

ParticipantWe are winning on the challenge of joining a team with 21 members, but I wish the challenging part was the riding and not the team joining.
Hopefully they get it sorted out.
I think I remember now that last year people requested to join and the captain OKed the request which is how I thought the private team setting would work. This year I think if it was working properly I would have to invite by email or through facebook or twitter, which isn’t something I want to do.

ParticipantI pinged them again about fixing the joining problem. We’ll see what the response is.

ParticipantI changed to public but just now I double check and it changed back to private. Maybe something I did wrong. I changed it back to public and saved changes. Hopefully it will take. I need to go for a bike ride soon, will try later to resolve issues. Bear with me.

ParticipantFWIW, given my experience with the NBC site so far, I’m sure you’re not the problem, Rod.
Hell, right now, you can’t delete miles you entered manually and you can’t redefine rides from transport/utility to sport/fun or vice/versa. I have tried unsuccessfully several times to create and save a workplace. I’m sure the web team there is working hard to iron out the kinks, but man do they have their hands full!!!

ParticipantLooks like it worked this time–I was able to join.@Rod Smith 81867 wrote:

ParticipantIt took me a couple of attempts, including having to close my browser (Firefox), before I was able to successfully join.
