How about about two weekends from now? http://www.total200.com/
Hmmm, that might be a lot of toilet paper. That stuff doesn’t grow on trees ya know. OK how about this deal? I’ll hand out toilet paper to All-Stars finishing Total200 if you get your coworkers at DS&MG to join our team.

Ha!…My birthday is Friday, too! My plan though, is a little different. I plan to eat a lot of cherry pie from momsapplepieco.com
Happy birthday, fellow 6/6er!
Don’t get me wrong… I plan to eat a lot, too, shortly after I get back from my 70 mile ride to Leesburg and back. Plus I feel like I’ve earned it. A nice dinner, AND my wife is making cheesecake!
Yum! Oh, and I plan to eat when I take a break in Leesburg, too. Lots of cycling and lots of food. I’m getting so excited about my Friday!

ParticipantMy coworkers and I just finished the federal bike to work challenge, and they all wanted to keep tracking their rides. So now a bunch of them are joining the National Bike Challenge.
For any HHS-ers out there, we started a workplace so we could find each other: https://nationalbikechallenge.org/workplace/6743. I’m guessing it’ll be mostly be ONCers since we’re tech geeks who like this kind of thing, but all other HHSers are welcome to join.

ParticipantAs a former HHSer, thanks. DOS did a B2WD event, but I never found their team (if they had one) for the federal and I’m the only one riding the BTA Commute Challenge.

ParticipantPerhaps you can convince the local riders to join the Washington Area All-Stars.

It seems that this is the casual bike event that developed into the National Bike Challenge.
“What is the history of the Challenge?
In 2009, Kimberly-Clark Corporation created an internal bike challenge for its more than 50,000 employees. With the help of the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin, the Challenge was successfully piloted in Wisconsin at the statewide level in 2011. The bike challenge, then called the Get Up & Ride National Bike Challenge, was open to the nation in 2012. It had more than 30,000 participants riding 12 million miles; 2014 will be the third year the Challenge is national in scope.”

I guess that’s why Wisconsin is always the state leader. I really love the challenge. It definitely motivates me to ride more often than I would otherwise.

Thanks! I’m writing this reply from Leesburg where I just downed a calzone and a bunch of Coca Cola. All refueled and ready to head back to Alexandria. 38.5 miles down, roughly the same to get home. It’s a great day so far!
