I am pretty sure by “organization” they mean “the company that employs you”. This is what Love to Ride does.

I don’t know much about the National Bike Challenge, although if it’s structured differently this year than the past I have nothing to worry about. I’m tentatively interested, and I should be around in May and able to ride a reasonable amount.

They claim that if you rode last year, you can log in with the same credentials. I tried that. It said it had no record of that e-mail, so I had to register all over again.

It has a completely different method of setting up workplaces, so all my workplaces from last year got deleted.

Once you set up a workplace (which, by the way, requires a specific address, even if you have more than one office), it allows for “departments,” but not geographical locations. In the case of my firm, it would be relatively easy to figure out about how many people work at each location (one of the required fields), but difficult even to define departments, much less come up with a number of employees. HR, for example, would be a department. But are all attorneys a department? Or all attorneys in the business group? Or all attorneys in the tax section? And what do we do with administrative assistants who work for attorneys in more than one of those?

Plus, teams can’t be more than eight members, which means I can’t just be part of a BikeArlington team.

Even the URL has changed, to something that is much harder to remember.

I registered, but I have to say, I’m not feeling it this year the way I did in prior years.

I think the claim is that if you have a profile on “lovetoride” you can log in. Since last year’s NBC was on People for Bikes, it’s different. I had never heard of lovetoride.net, so my previous login did not work either.

There seems to be a lot of points up for grab for “encouraging new riders/existing riders”. I don’t understand how this works.

Love to ride replied to me that once the challenge begins riders will be asked to enter another rider’s name when logging their first ride or “after you log your first ride”. I thought I read somewhere that you may need the email address for the rider, not sure about that. I’m going to manually log a sleaze ride on the first day so I can sus it out for the rest of my team and then advise them how to do it.

I like their website redesign. It’s complicated but seems to work well.

I am not on track for my 9,999 pints of beer goal, gotta step my game up.

It may be news to you, it was news to me, but some of us have apparently still been competing in the national bike challenge this month:confused:, and our very own Kitty won a new helmet.

as an aside, looks like I’ve fallen far short of my goal this year:

510.67 PINTS OF BEER DOWN, 9488.33 TO GO!
