Yesterday I was riding with a fellow who, three weeks ago, finished a ride from San Francisco to Virginia Beach with a group of Eagle Scouts. It took them about 60 days, but the planning took a year and a half. It wasn’t just choosing roads; they contacted as many scout troops along the way that they could, and got the locals involved. Scouts all across the country rode part of the way with them, and local troops helped out by finding them places to stay and often feeding them at night.

I often tell people they need to do things like this when they are young; if they don’t, then when they are older, they won’t believe they could have.

Super cool. I just read an article in bicycling magazine about Dave Mirra doing the same thing. The are professional athletes and did it in 5 days. Theirs ended in Annapolis md.
