Garmin HRM straps die easily in my experience. I got one of these to replace mine and it’s worked fine so far (used the same pod part)

Last time this happened to me, I got a new one on eBay. There are lots of them for sale there.

I might have one, but I’ll have to check. It was bundled with the Garmin 305 I bought years ago. I used the HRM strap for a few weeks, but I couldn’t stand wearing it, whether on the bike or the run. So it’s buried somewhere in a drawer, unless I got rid of it and forgot about it. It should work unless the battery dies from lack of use.

It’s the older version though, with the long plastic section in front, not the soft strap with the newer version.

I find I get a year or two out of them before they die. The premium soft strap one I got maybe 2 months out of, so I’m back to the old school ones (cheaper, anyway). I’d be happy to pay more for a more durable strap, but everything I’ve tried lasts (at best) the same as the cheap garmin ones, so I keep buying them.

    Hear, hear!
I’m back to my old iBike HRM, after the last two garmin premiums died quickly. Heavy plastic across the front. The iBike HRM has to be close to ten years, and still works great.
