This was cleared as of 5:50am – there was still some caution tape leftovers, but the trail is perfectly clear.

As HM reported, it was gone this morning. I was wondering what the wood chips at the end of the bridge were from. Now I know… I had thought it was just some regular tree trimming or something I failed to notice having taken place when I passed there yesterday evening on the way home.

Apologies if this a double post but mvt is blocked at north/eastern terminus in DC to a felled pine tree. I saw it on drive home (bike in/drive home scenario)

Just out of curious, where do you mean? I thought the NE terminus of the MVT was TR Island or the Intersection of Doom, depending on whom you asked. Neither are in DC.

Good point, I meant the 14th St Bridge terminus. I’m not actually sure what the path is called across that bridge although some mapping programs refer to it as the MVT until it physically touches land in DC, which would not really be accurate.

Impressive the NPS got this done before 6am. It was probably 9:30pm or so when I drove by. Although, it was also particularly obstructing the roadway so maybe DDOT did it.

Yeah. Smart $’s on DDOT. :)
