I saw this article about a bridge extension that will connect Jones Branch Drive and Route 123 via Scotts Crossing Road.

Seems like this could be a significant improvement for cyclists and pedestrians in Tysons, doesn’t it? Are Fairfax cyclists excited about it? I’ve never ridden in Tysons, but looking at the bicycling view on Google Maps, I can see how few bike connections exist today in that area. Better bike and pedestrian connections, along with the new Silver Line Metro stations, could help to turn Tysons into more of an urban center, than an office complex with high-speed roads in the middle of it. Or some hybrid of the two.
I have heard it mentioned at FABB meetings and on the FABB blog, I think. It is certainly a big piece of improving bike/ped connectivity in Tysons.
