The New York Times is reporting that the Park Service will employ sharpshooters in Rock Creek Park to reduce the deer population.
One quote in the story that caught my eye was
I’ve never had an issue of cycling after dark through the park.
No have I. In fact, come to think of it, I’ve never had a problem walking on trails in the dark there either. Just the other week, I came out in the dark and no issues.
Instead of them worrying about hitting people, they should probably bait the deer and partake in the earliest of morning hours from 12am-4amish (This comment I know will attract scorn from some, but seriously, seems safer to me).
