An acquaintance of mine swore by noseless saddles and used one on a cross-country ride. While I can imagine them being more comfortable in some riding situations, it seems to me that the nose of the saddle is actually good for control and keeping your ass from sliding all over the place. That said, if people find it works for them, more power to ’em.

Curiously, “wedgies” is the slang term the recumbent community uses to refer to regular bikes.

Yesterday, I went to get my bike from the parking garage at work and noticed a really REALLY strange looking bike seat on someone else’s bike on the rack. At first, I thought the seat had been turned sideways until I took a closer look:

I’ve never seen a saddle like this before! I went to the website to find out more information, and it looks like this is being sold as a solution to issues common to ill-fitting bike saddles.

    The website is here: http://www.moonsaddle.com/

Anybody used one of these before? All the pictures on the site make it seem like they induce wedgies.

That guy appears to be doing it wrong. Looks like it’s on backwards.

Nope, it’s meant to be that way. How strange. I have glute and hamstring issues and I’m certain that would be painful.

Interesting shape. It might work for some people.
