ParticipantIf you aren’t on a Strava leaderboard, that’s probably a question for the Strava support team. We just get data from Strava, we don’t provide any in return.

Hi. Per the directions at the Freezing Saddles Strava Group, I am posting my question here. Me thinks it is a Strava issue but here it goes – I am included on the official Freezing Saddles Strava leaderboard but not on the Strava group leaderboard. I noticed this last week, removed myself and added myself to the group. No change. Disconnected from the Strava app and reconnected. No change. Any hints on how to fix this issue? Thanks!
What do you mean by the the “official Freezing Saddles Strava leaderboard”? There is no such thing. The official Freezing Saddles leaderboard is at http://freezingsaddles.com, not on Strava.
If you are not appearing on the leaderboard at http://freezingsaddles.com, the first thing to check is whether you have joined your team’s Strava club. The leaderboard picks up from the Strava clubs of the individual teams, so if you haven’t joined your team’s Strava club, you won’t appear.
Second thing to do is to go to http://freezingsaddles.com/authorize, and authorize the Freezing Saddles leaderboard to read your miles.
So far, one of these two things has fixed every situation I’ve found.

ParticipantI see you on the leaderboards.

ParticipantUnsure how I should answer the “official” question as you seem to have figured it out. There are two leaderboard locations – the OFFICIAL Freezing Saddles Leaderboards at freezingsaddles.com and one on the Strava Freezing Saddles group (https://www.strava.com/clubs/freezingsaddles2018). The Strava leaderboard can be located by clicking on the “Club Leaderboard” tab on the group page. The information on the Strava Club Leaderboard is interesting too, so I check it almost daily. The information in the header section of the Strava group strongly states “TECH SUPPORT REQUESTS SHOULD BE MADE ON THE BIKE ARLINGTON FORUM”. Perhaps the technical issues information in the about section of the Strava group should be more explicit about what technical issues to post in this forum about (e.g. connections of strava profiles to Freezing Saddles app). In following the instructions and thinking that perhaps it does mean all technical issues, I posted here. I did not believe anyone here would be able to help me with my issue, but maybe it would as I do not know what levels of access a Strava group owner/administrator has been granted. And by chance, the group owner can turn on what members appear on the STRAVA leaderboard on the Freezing Saddles group.

The list of members of https://www.strava.com/clubs/freezingsaddles2018 spans several pages, but you can be found on page 5 (https://www.strava.com/clubs/324147/members?page=5). However, that group has 320 members, and the leaderboard for the club only shows the top 100 members. So it’s not a glitch–you’re just not among the top 100.
In any event, the leaderboard for that club is irrelevant. The club has a couple of functions–serving as a test for the software before the competition begins, and capturing those who are not on teams for the “Friends of BAFS” list at https://freezingsaddles.com/people/friends. But now that the competition has started, it has no function for those, like you, who are on teams. Instead, you’d go to http://freezingsaddles.com and use one of the drop-down menus to see either your team’s status or your individual status.
I hope that helps!

Thanks for your efforts but I found your replies to be insulting and they completely missed the mark.
The Strava issue seems to have resolved itself. A miracle. Again, I encourage that the Strava group page be updated to be more explicit on what tech support tickets are to be posted here, because as written, it is misleading.

Sorry you found it insulting. It wasn’t meant to be.

Who cares? Ride your bike and eat your feelings and everything will always work out. Like they did here!

ParticipantTeacher! Teacher! Is this the appropriate thread for for grubbing for points? (Or being chastised with a rules clarification?)
I’m kinda curious if some of my miles don’t count for some reason? I’m Andrew C on the individual leaderboard — in my neighborhood there’s several other riders with 19 days, and the difference with the mileage = difference in points, but apparently not for mine.

Edit to add: this ride isn’t getting counted, so you are only listed as having ridden 0.1 miles that day. You don’t get the 10 point bonus for the day unless you ride at least a mile.
It lists no elapsed time – did your phone bonk or something?

ParticipantSounds like that explains it. I’ve had trouble with my phone starting rides, and knowing where I am, but not recording them right. That ride was the same as others, like this one https://www.strava.com/activities/1361570654 but the phone recorded it as the crow flies. Oh well. At least now I have an answer — thanks!

If you legitimately rode the 0.9 miles to get the bonus, you should be able to edit the ride and re-post. I think if you use most of the ride mapping sites (mapmyride, etc) and make sure you put in a start and end time then export, you should be able to delete that ride and replace it with the exported version and get your 10 points.
