Metro to close Vienna/Dunn Loring/East Falls Church for 3 Months, No parking at EFC

The 3 stations will close from May 25(Memorial day) to September 7th(Labor Day). West Falls Church Station will remain open. No parking at East Falls Church starting March 15(Yesterday), so some are already impacted. Parking is limited on the other stations.

A lady handing out flyers at EFC told me bicycle parking would still be available. I don’t know if that will hold true once the actual station is closed. I hope so, since I’m likely to catch one of the buses from EFC on days I don’t ride all the way in.

Bike parking is not affected. The reason for reduced parking is that they need some place to put their equipment and construction materials, and that would be surface parking. Parking garages remain open, but EFC doesn’t have any. From the “No parking” link above:

“Beginning Sunday, March 15, surface parking lots at East Falls Church, West Falls Church, and Vienna stations will be closed for seven to nine months, as construction contractors begin the process of moving material and machines into place. Once these lots close, there will be no parking available at East Falls Church, severely limited parking at West Falls Church, and reduced parking at Vienna Station. Parking at Dunn Loring station is not impacted.”
