Meh-diocrity Pointless Prize

With the addition of Team 31, there is now an exact middle in the team Meh-diocrity standings.

Keep an eye on Team 2: 2 Legit 2 Quit, because they are 2 ordinary 2 quit. 15 teams ahead of ’em and 15 teams behind ’em. Now that’s Meh-diocrity!!

Remarkably, the team in 16th place–exactly in the middle–is Team 16, 16 Wheels! We’re now more than 3 weeks in and some teams have taken themselves completely out of the running for this award, like Team 8 (pfft! they don’t even have a name. Losers!), Club 27 Below, and Polar Express. They are going to have to seriously slack off if they expect to contend for meh-diocrity.

And currently exactly in the middle of the individual standings is Sam Provorse of the Honey Badgers. There’s lots of time for others to contend for meh-diocrity. Just keep riding exactly an average amount.

The only thing I told our Captain was that we must have a team name. I didn’t care about anything else.

Or maybe Team 8 is trying to be so mediocre, they decided to not name the team to make up for being in first?

Today being the middle of Freezing Saddles, it seems like the perfect time for the Meh-diocrity update.

Right in the middle of the team standings we find Team 4WD Unicorns, but it is frighteningly close, with 16 Wheels and Storm Riders closing from either side. This could come down to the last day, people!

With a bit more than a week to go, here are the standings

In the exact middle of the team standings we find STORM RIDERS in 16th place.
Right behind them, though, is my team, the BOLLARD BUSTERS. If we step it up just a little, we could end up exactly meh.

Individual meh is 124.5, so it’s a shared notoriety. Currently exactly in the middle we have Lilli B and the indomitable Carol, who is killing it in the daily photo Pointless Prize competition. Lots of time for others to make their move and snatch this prize away.

The team winner of the Meh-diocrity FS2021 Pointless Prize is:

STORM RIDERS (team 17)

They held tight to that exactly median position for several weeks at the end, not slacking too much, but not trying too hard. Congratulations!!!

Since there were an even number of riders, the exact middle is 124.5th place. So there are two winners of the individual Meh-diocrity prize.

What is notable about this is that Carol rode 468 miles while Karl rode 1,238 miles, and yet they ended up only 11 points apart. They each slacked and pushed just enough to finish exactly in the middle.

Congratulations!!!! You are the medianist of them all.
