Custis Trail east of Spout Run: Drain is blocked and giant puddle is present. This has been reported to the county.
Drain still blocked, but beginning to dry up and one can squeeze by on the I-66 side without getting wet.
Not sure if the county has too many items on their list/not enough staff (which is highly possible and understandable), my report was too late for assignment yesterday, or if the anonymous submission doesn’t actually work (I have had this suspicion for the past year since the only ones that seem to be completed are trees, which others likely also submit).

All clear!!!
And thanks to Arlington for clearing all the underpasses on 4MRT. The detritus under S. George Mason had been bad lately.

ParticipantFairfax Cross-County Trail riders be advised there is construction on the trail between Tobin Rd./Eakin Park (and maybe further north, I did not go that way) and Woodburn Rd. Looks like new drainage and repaving.

ParticipantIt has been a couple of months since I rode through Gravelly Point, but a friend had told me of a big trail improvement that I should check out.
Yesterday, I rode by and sure enough the trail had been improved.

Missing from the photo are the portapotties that have long been a bane (and a godsend) for many cyclists. Should you have a chance to ride the trail, stop, pull off the trail and enjoy the view north.

I’m sure they’ll be back after COVID-19. Most pot-o-potties I’ve seen in the NYC area are padlocked.

Looks like they are almost done with this project, signs were still up this morning, but I saw no work crews. The new blacktop is nice and smooth. Looks like they are still building up the shoulders with gravel as some of the new pavement has a substantial drop-off on either side.
