Does anyone know if the trail connection across the 14th St. bridge is usable during the MCM? I’d like to ride up into the city to cheer a friend who’s running — ideally I’d get over to Hains Point somewhere.

    Thanks —

It is usable. The marathon is run on the HOV bridge. You’ll have to be careful on the DC end because you’ll hit the course close by the ramp down from the bridge.

Thanks. I hoped it would at least be open to get across.

What I found annoying was the way they closed down Boundary Channel Drive on SATURDAY! And there were no signs anywhere to alert you to this, just a surly, dickish Pentagon cop playing bridge troll on the Pentagon side of the bridge from the LBJ Grove who hopped out and asked me where I was going with a lot of attitude as if I were committing some sort of crime just being there. He was just a total prick in his initial question and his dismissive nature during the rest of our exchange.

Had there been signs somewhere between the MVT and the Boundary Channel Drive side of that little bridge, I would have stopped and turned around. But there weren’t.
