Probably too late for you, but the only problem area on that stretch was on both sides of the 14th St Bridge complex. Even so, it was much better than yesterday.

…..There is lots of police activity at the Grove Ave crossing, and the Wells Fargo bank on the corner of West St is all blocked by police. If I had to guess what happened, someone tried to rob the bank, and fled through the snow at that Grove Ave crossing; much of the police activity seemed to be forensic analysis of evidence in the snow there. No trouble passing through on a bike.

Most of 15th St cycletrack is clear, from NY Ave south. 14th St. Bridge is clear. As noted, MVT is tricky at the 14th St. Bridge. There’s a 15 ft section that is pure ice and very slippery.

Gravelly Point is almost completely clear. The overpass by DCA is slushy in parts. The last 100 ft to the CC connector is messy. Eventually I just decided to walk the bike (CaBi) that last 100 ft and up the short hill to the Water Park.

so free and clear except for the shady sections near the bridges? I’m asking more for tomorrow’s morning commute than today’s evening commute. just trying to decide between routes.

Oh! Oh! OMG! I forgot my other update! I had just turned off Chain Bridge Rd onto Westmoreland on my way back from McLean today, and I totally saw a big purple dildo in the road! I almost went back to get a picture, but I really didn’t want to post that kind of pic on the forum, nor did I want a pic like that on my phone, frankly.

So: be careful not to run over a big purple dildo on Westmoreland near Chain Bridge. Very hazardous condition, that.

OMG. I’m offended. Purple? Don’t people in NoVa have better taste than that?

It’s not like this is the first dildo sighting on the forum.

Well, I looked back and found where I called Dickie a sinner for finding a dildo in the street. Being Episcopalian, I—like C of E Dickie—am a perfect candidate for finding a dildo in the street. You, Dismal, being Lutheran, would never do such a thing (or at least would never admit it). ShawnoftheDread, being Catholic…wouldn’t know a dildo if he saw one? :p

Where on earth did you get the idea that I’m Catholic (by which I assume you mean Roman Catholic)?

Westmoreland and Chain Bridge puts you in North Arlington, so I assume it was more refined periwinkle or lavender, rather than plebeian purple.

Actually, it was more of a periwinkle color…wait—is it yours?!?
