Mapillary – Crowd-sourced Streetview

Liked because this seems like a friggin’ awesome way to get Streetview for local trails which will really help people with planning routes and finding their way on unfamiliar trails.

Disliked because I don’t have any time to do this but I REALLY WANT TO CONTRIBUTE. Expect to see a bunch of this popping up in the Seattle area come late September 😎

It’s like Google Streetview, but anyone can contribute to it by downloading an app and taking pictures. Nice! I’ve wanted something like this for a while and sometimes resort to searching for YouTube videos of trails. Any tips on camera set up to do this yet, Chris?

I keep meaning to try this out with my Garmin Virb on the CCT, but have been stymied by being in too much of a rush or shitty weather. My goal is to do it tonight.
