I could have sworn I’d posted about this in the past, but now I can’t find it. Just wanted to make a quick plug for mapillary.com in case you aren’t familiar with it. It’s like Google Streetview, but anyone can contribute to it by downloading an app and taking pictures. There are some folks like me who are contributing by bike so there is imagery for most of Arlington’s trail network. It can be very useful if you’re doing recon for a route or something.
I encourage you to contribute if you can, or just know that it’s there to consult.
For instance, here’s the relatively newly-repaved Custis Spurt.
Nice! I’ve wanted something like this for a while and sometimes resort to searching for YouTube videos of trails. Any tips on camera set up to do this yet, Chris?
