I’m in for Saturday. Tim, can you or David post an updated signup sheet so that people can see where/when help is still needed?

(A short two hour shift helps provide credibility to our requests for improvements and expansion of bike facilities.)

As of yesterday evening, the Thursday morning volunteer sheet was filling up but still needed counters for several spots in the Rosslyn area, Crystal City, MVT and some bike lanes. Thursday evening and Saturday need lots more. I got a pdf with the chart, but don’t know how to upload it.

    Giving this a bump.

BikeArlington needs more support! If you have time tomorrow (Thursday 12 Sep) or Saturday (14 Sep) please help out. This year we are doing the 14th Street Bridge, a location that will help both Arlington as well as the NPS (on both sides of the river) understand the number of cyclists using that vital route.

There is training tonight at the County or you can coordinate with David Patton at bikepedcounts@arlingtonva.us

Remember, the County uses these numbers to help make planning decisions. More cyclists means more support for cyclists. David Patton once said, “What gets counted, counts” and that really captures the issue. Governments need to show benefits to offset the costs. We do our bit to help relieve pressure on the Metro and roadway systems by cycling. This serves to quantify those efforts.

Help Arlington continue to lead the way.

Adding to what dbb posted above, they can use your help even if you can’t attend the training session.
