Looking for a bike route with wineries near Sperryvillle or Little Washington

I apologize if this has been answered already but I did a search of the forum (and google) and couldn’t find anything definitive.

I’m trying to help set up a birthday ride this weekend for a friend. I’m looking for a 20 to 50 mile loop starting from near Sperryville or Little Washington area that can incorporate at least a couple of wineries. Obviously scenic backroads with as little traffic as possible would also be swell

I remember liking Gray Ghost on 211 near Amissville. I’d add that to your list. they have a nice lounge upstairs and an outdoor patio as well.

I’d try to stay off 211 though.

Never tried Gray Ghost, will have to stop by. I’m still looking through “ride with GPS”, it’s quite the chore weeding through the numerous routes.

I know most of the roads out there, but haven’t really correlated them wineries. The ones I’m familiar with are off of 522/Hume Rd, and Naked Mountain (although I think that one is defunct.)

There are some great roads in the area you’re asking about. Even 211 and 522 are rideable. If you can do a teeny amount of gravel you have some even nicer options (but a bit hillier.) This is one I just made up, that takes in some of my favorite roads:

There’s a small amount of gravel on Aaron Mountain Rd, and about 1/2 mile or so on Gid Brown Hollow, but it’s easily doable on a road bike.

This would be a great ride even without the wineries
