Garmin in the goofy skin suits and boots makes me think of the Blue Man Group from Vegas…

Garmin is my favorite team, but….

I think they may have lost a few seconds just out of embarrassment?

    Love it.

Also finally getting some reward for picking Gerrans in my fantasy team.

More from today. We decided to skip the sh*tshow at the start in Cagnes-sur-mer and went up to Grasse instead, picking up the stage at about 25 miles in. Grasse is pretty awesome, and totally worth visiting if you’re in the south of France.

I was surprised to learn that the party caravan drives the entire stage ahead of the peloton, so you can get swag without having to wait at the start:

    The breakaway:

The peloton took close to 30 seconds to pass through, given the narrow streets of Grasse:

I’ve been to Grasse — very hilly just to walk around town! And this is considered a “flat” stage for the tour!

Today’s stage had about 7,000 feet of climbing. It really puts it in perspective when they say things like the sprinters can get over the little hills for the finish…

Managed to get a decent shot of Pierre Roland, smiling as he rides through mid-peloton:
