It is muddy AF today. Almost more water than solid surface (at least between Gtown and Chain Bridge).
Given a confirmed report of muddy AF, I’m going to skip out on Liquid! Gravel! Action! Tonight and do some HP laps. If anyone wants some casual hamstering, I should be there around 6.
Secret HP fact: there is beer at HP.

Thanks for the update. I’ve never done it, but from VVill’s pics, it could be good Hilly Billy Roubaix practice?
I really should have explicitly credited the photog (Mike Briggs on flickr), although I did embed the link to the photo on my post. Click through the photo album to see more awesome pictures from that event!

I’ll wave on my way to the baseball game, which hopefully will not be rained out, too.

γγΌγ« and Birru are very similar.

ParticipantI was thinking of doing this tonight but is anyone going to do it? More fun if it’s muddy!

It sounds like the usual suspects are probably out. I’d guess that Tania is probably out. Sunyata has a rep as being a dirty, dirty girl though.

ParticipantYou might pass me as I ride back IN to the city on my way home…that’s sort of like participating, right?

Def out. I have to work later than normal plus I’m still anti-mud-grit-rain-whatever.

While that may be true, my Warbird was packed up and shipped off to Kansas yesterday, so I was enjoying pie at Bikenetic instead. π

ParticipantI could be talked into this for tomorrow especially if we reinstate the Slacker Edition. I’m way behind on my mileage goal for the year.

Just as a warning, the Towpath was pretty muddy this morning. Didn’t require fenders, but I had to maneuver around A LOT of big puddles. Could be hard to execute such maneuvers at high speed in a group….

I won’t be able to make it tomorrow night but I encourage others to still do it if it’s just a puddle issue.

I will be finishing my packing tomorrow night since my flight leaves at 6am Thursday.
I WILL, however, most likely be back in town in time for NEXT Wednesday’s edition… If my legs still work after 200 miles of Flint Hill gravel, that is.

I’m very unlikely for tomorrow unfortunately. Everyone’s falling apart and I expect to be making hospital visits/checking in on folks. I do owe you a loafy gravel ride, Tania. Hopefully next week we can all dead-leg with the Kanzanauts as they regale us with tales of mud and sorrow.

With this evening’s rains I expect C&O conditions to be even worse tomorrow.

I rescind my earlier comment about encouraging others to ride. It’s been pretty heavy rain at my place to I imagine the towpath is pretty yucky. Instead, I encourage doing a bunch of Hains Point laps.
