Dunno where you are, but I’ve got way more scars from Ortho’s than I care to admit. (both shoulders, one knee full reconstruct) Went through a couple of quacks to find an ace one, and I’d drive across the country for this guy. Hopkins trained knee and shoulder specialist.

Guys name is Stephen Brown. He’s a flipping god. To give you an idea, I drive 150 miles to see him…

I’ve used the Ortho and Sports Medicine practice in Bowie and Annapolis (with surgery in Annapolis). I found them based on recommendations of others.

While I doubt I can win a scar counting match with CCrew, I’ve been really happy with Dr Peter Ove. I generally do the office calls in Bowie to avoid the drive to Annapolis.

Thank you! This is the type of referral I’m looking for… I’ll be living in N. Virginia (Arlington area), so I don’t much care how far I have to drive to be honest. I just want someone that will do what is actually going to provide long-term healing and ability to ride.

It appears the favorite place for folks from Virginia to go for ortho services is Maryland. The Bowie office of CCrew’s doc is about a mile from mine. Sounds like you have a choice of two good docs with no difference in the drive.

I went to this guy when I broke my arm last year, and I’ve also been to see him previously for my knees (patellar tendonitis).

No complaints, although I’ve only ever been to one other ortho in my life so it’s hard to judge really (that was a shoulder arthroscopy due to recurrent dislocation – ended up being a 4 hr procedure).

Commonwealth Orthopaedics. They are right next to virginia Hospital Center on George Mason Drive.
Dr. Frank Pettrone performed surgery to fix my broken collarbone. Very pleased.

Commonwealth Orthopaedics actually have a few different offices. I’ve been to the one in Virginia Hospital Center as well as their one in Tysons Corner.
