I would think depending on where you are in Kensington, you can get to Beach Drive down to Jones Mill Road then turn on to the Georgetown Branch Trail to the Capital Crescent into Georgetown. The key would be getting to Beach. It also seems like you could take Kensington Pkwy to Jones Bridge/Connecticut then ride the sidewalk to get to the Georgetown Branch trail as well. I think there’s a commute in there somewhere…

My wife’s from Kensington and her mom still lives there, so it’s one of the only places in Maryland I know well. It’s very easy to get from Kensington to Beach Drive. Kensington Parkway works. I’ve ridden up there a few times, but not recently enough to remember the best route to connect all the way to Bethesda.

I second what DaveK said. My brother used to live in Kensington (near Newport Mill MS) so I rode a bit between his place, my place in downtown SS and where I worked in Bethesda. From his house I made my way west on neighborhood roads over to Beach Dr, down that to Connecticut – ride the sidewalk for a mile or so for a shortcut – or go all the way to the Georgetown Branch trail.

If you want to avoid riding gravel daily to cut down on dirt and grime, I also did a road route through the neighborhoods that started by going up Rollingwood, south of East-West Hwy and ending at Wisconsin and Leland St. From there you can get on the CCT and go to Georgetown.

Thanks for the help everyone! I will try and scout out some of your suggested routes this weekend.
