    Wet but beautiful.

It was actually a near-perfect commute for my direction. Left work at around 4pm, had a big tailwind northbound, rain wasn’t so hard that it chilled, but was hard enough not to fog up my glasses too bad. Hit green on all but two traffic lights, one in DC (at South Dakota) one in Maryland at 201 — both stops were just long enough for a drink and rinse (of the glasses) and not much more.

Nobody on the trails. Perfect sunset over Lake Artemesia at about 4:45, with the setting sun on the horizon under the cloud deck. Home by about 5:05. That’s as fast as I ever make it, despite the weather.

Another rainy day, another great commute!

You left too early! Departed DC about 5 and the rain had stopped.

Did a lap around Hains Point and observed a red fox looking for dinner.

All in all, a great day!

I headed out at 9 this morning just as the rain started. I rode through Georgetown out to the Angler’s Inn and enjoyed the ride up the hill to the Great Falls park entrance. Took the towpath back to Georgetown (thank you cx tires) and saw lots of birds out enjoying the quiet. Had a hawk swoop overhead and land on a branch directly over my path.
It was a lovely 2-ish squishy hours.
Glad to know that the fox is still at Hains. Haven’t see it in a while.

I saw the fox in October. Not at all afraid of people.

I saw the fox last year. I don’t remember seeing him this year. Then again, I didn’t ride at Hains Point as much this year.

Eh, I’m waterproof. I don’t even bother with rain gear, that’s just more to have to dry out.

Both commutes yesterday were miraculously without rain. Trail was wet in the evening though. EMPTY EMPTY EMPTY!!!
