I guess I made it through there just in time.

Went through there today around 11:30. That pine tree at the bend looks like it is about to fall over.

Ran into this at about 4:45am. Literally. That’s my front wheel wedged under the tree. Munged up my knee a little bit, but amazingly enough my fork and the carbon wheels seem to have survived ok.

I called it in before 5:00am. If it was still there at 8:00 that’s pretty bad. I could have been seriously injured.

Oh and other people too :)

Arlington County had the 4MRT blocked off east at George Mason Saturday. Luckily for me I was riding a road route, not an MUP route. This morning it open again. Riding between George Mason and Walter Reed, there was still a lot of small debris, but the fall trees were cleared off the trail. It was also interesting that the crossing under Columbia Pike was even more cleared out this morning than it was on Friday morning. I’m not sure with the deluge washed away more of the accumulated sand/stones or whether the county crew did.
