The last of Bike Arlington’s Two Wheel Tuesday series before the August break will be a July 31st screening of the excellent Chasing Legends, a documentary film covering the events of the 2009 Tour de France. Directed by Arlington’s own Jason Berry (of Gripped Films), it’s a great inside view of Le Tour from the perspective of Team Columbia-High Road.

The screening will run from 7p to 8:30p, at Arlington’s Central Library’s Auditorium (1015 North Quincy Street, Arlington, VA 22201).

RSVP here for the movie. There’s no charge – we just need help figuring out the headcount and seating needs.

After the screening, I’m inviting everyone to cross the street to join me at Car Pool for an informal happy hour. Will I be arranging for drink specials? No! Will I be providing door prizes? No! (What, you think I’m sweet and kind like acc and ArlingtonRider? As if.) I just thought it would be great to share a beer or two on the patio with my fellow #BikeDC friends.

So put it on your calendar. 7p on Tuesday, July 31st. Arlington Central Library & then Car Pool. Make an evening of it.

Okay, how many of y’all are actually old enough to remember when “Tour de France” came out as a 45? Just dusted off my copy for old times sake.

Door prizes, Freddy Mercury imitations, and booty dances…. this might end up being the best night ever!

I’ll let you sort out the parts.

Me, I’m busy folding dollar bills. So looking forward to karaoke.

FYI–we’re getting quite the RSVP turnout. So far about 60 people have RSVPed.

    That’s a lot of popcorn!

Quick question – what’s bike parking like? U-locks recommended?

I’ll be there…I even convinced my not-much-of-a-cyclist wife to ride in from DC to meet me!

Multiple racks in front and back. A U-lock is always recommended.

I was a little disappointed that Blacknell didn’t bust out some “Die Antwoord” moves…maybe next time.

Most fun ride home in a long time after Chasing legends, quite roads, all downhill**, a Guinness meal in my belly.. felt like being a kid all over again, especially the Guinness part!

**except for TwoWheelsDC’s lovely wife you apparently has to cross the Alps to get home.. apologies!
