ParticipantThe rebuild of the bridge over Four Mile Run at Van Buren St. in Falls Church looks to be all finished, but the roadblocks remain. Any idea when it will open up for traffic again?

I haven’t heard anything recently, but will certainly send an email and see if any of ArlCo planning staff has heard anything. Project page says June of 2018, but there is a contact listed: James Mak at 703-248-5105 or via email at jmak@fallschurchva,gov.

Update: I’ve been told the project is, as it seems, almost completed. There are a few more things happening, and then there needs to be a final walk-through with VDOT and relevant parties, but if all goes well, should be reopened within a week or so.

It was open today, and I rode across it.

ParticipantART closed this morning for some sort of digging project. Trying to get details. Laurie just called Bladensburg waterfront marina folks. WSSC is doing work in the area but was supposed to provide workarounds.

ParticipantThere is an erosion run-off prevention fence set up between the MVT and the Potomac south of Memorial Bridge and the GWMP crosswalk. Anyone know what NPS is up to and whether it will affect the MVT?

ParticipantAccording to Twitter, GW Parkway is flooded at DCA. Likely to affect MVT as well.

Expect any trail that floods to be flooded, by the looks of things. Also expect traffic to be a cluster.

Fixed. Thanks, I don’t know why I do that. And I did it when I was talking to my wife, too.

ParticipantAccording to Arlington Public Safety, MVT is no longer flooded. Use caution anyway

ParticipantFollowing up, Laurie was told this project was all finished this afternoon so no lingering impact for commuters.

yep, it was flooded on the road last night on my commute home. there was some debris on the trail, still there this morning. what was more dangerous though were the cars that decided to start bailing out of the GW parkway by driving up the grass and across the MVT intersection with the 4MRT to get over onto the airport road.

ParticipantThe “wet spot” on the ART was fixed yesterday quickly. The gravel patchwork is well done. There was a lot of concern yesterday morning about the sudden closure (the work arounds are miles out of the way) but they got the work done before the afternoon commute.
