    Email from WABA this morning:

    “Hi all,

Thank you so much for making a contribution to yesterday’s challenge match. I’m so happy to share that it was a success; so much so that we doubled down halfway through the day and pushed for $13,000! And we made it: 126 donors contributed $16,169.89!

Truly, we couldn’t do our work without you. Thank you for coming to listen and learn about WABA; for being gracious riders eager to encourage others to join you; for making an investment in building a better connected region.

Special thanks to Judd and Josephine for stepping up in a big way for WABA this year. Their generosity and hard work—not to mention willingness to let us share their words and photos far and wide!—is inspirational and deeply humbling.

Thank you for your commitment to WABA and helping to make yesterday a success. Here’s to a great 2018!

    With gratitude,
    Kristin”

Kristin is correct. Judd and Josephine (Komorebi) rock. If you missed the action yesterday, get in touch with WABA today. Online at http://www.waba.org/blog/2017/12/judd-and-josephine/

I’d also like to say thank you to the multiple forum members who promoted the match on social media yesterday. Several folks went way above and beyond, posting multiple times throughout the day, sharing their stories about biking and WABA, and giving likes to others who donated.

WABA hit their December fundraising goal of $100,000 just a few moments ago and now has a stretch goal to raise another $10,000 by midnight tonight. WABA members really stepped up, donating over $60,000 since the matching donation was announced just three days ago. If you haven’t made a 2017 gift to WABA yet, please visit waba.org/give.

Thanks to everyone who has supported WABA this year by donating, volunteering and participating in events.

If there’s one thing the Climate Ride taught me, it was the importance the social media hustle. On donation drive day I was with family in Michigan being driven to Detroit for more visiting, trying to orchestrate as much as I could from the back seat of the family Ford. When someone asked what I was doing I said “helping raise $13k for our bike org.” Not a bad way to use time in car captivity.

Thanks Judd, for the update! I’m so glad to hear we hit the $100k goal! Thanks again to you and Komo for getting us involved!

WABA had its best fundraising month in its history. About 70-80k of the donations came on the last four days of the month. (I’m giving all the credit to everyone liking Josephine’s biking story). Thanks to all of the forum members who donated for your continuous support of WABA.

Email from WABA that went to everyone who donated in December is below:

    Dear Judd,

Wow. This December, the WABA community stepped up like never before to build a more inclusive, better connected region. Thank you.

You were one of 930 donors who contributed $128,864! We surpassed even our stretch goal by almost $20,000. What an incredible, humbling thing to part of and celebrate.

We are so excited for what’s ahead for WABA in 2018 and beyond, thanks to you. We will ensure careful, intentional stewardship of your investment, and hope you see great progress towards more connected and bikeable region that we are committed to building together.

Thank you for helping us start the new year energized, grateful, and ready for anything.

    With deep gratitude,
