Judd and Josephine’s matching challenge

Many of you probably received an e-mail this morning from WABA featuring our very own Josephine. Josephine and I are leading a match of all donations to WABA up to $8,000! Several other members of the forum joined us in offering this match.

WABA is working every day to build trails, to improve infrastructure, to teach people to bike and to connect its members in meaningful ways (including by providing this forum). WABA has also had a personal impact. Josephine took the leap to bike commuting after a WABA presentation. I received support from WABA after being hit by a car this year.

Amex works. Just leave that drop down alone and put your numbers in.

I plan on donating all the money I get from selling the Freezing Saddles email list, as soon as the funds are transferred from Nigeria.

Update from WABA is below. The $8,000 that Josephine, me and some of our fine friends (I’ll let them decide if they want to be public) put up was matched in just three hours. Fortunately six additional donors were inspired by the match that they contacted WABA this morning to provide an additional $5,000. Take advantage of the match by donating at WABA.org/give

Judd, something really special just happened.

If you missed her email this morning, Josephine, a WABA member, rallied together several friends to support WABA with an $8,000 matching gift. We couldn’t be more grateful, and we have great news: we met their challenge match of $8,000 at 11:33am today!

We haven’t heard from you yet, but it’s not too late: six more WABA supporters stepped up this morning to contribute another $5,000 to the match!

Eddie – thank you so much for your donation. I’m checking in with Kristin Frontiera who is the development director at WABA this afternoon. I’ll let her know that the site is confusing for AMEX users and see if there’s anything that they can do to fix it.

I submitted a pledge for 1 miiiilliion dollars on your behalf, which should probably give you naming rights to a trail or something. I can probably convince Chris Slatt to name his fox it station in your honor.

Yesterday was amazing. Thank you to all of the forum members and friends that made a donation to WABA. We started the day offering an $8,000 match. Six other WABA members liked the idea enough to offer another $5,000 in matching money. That $13,000 match led to 126 WABA members donating $16,169.

If you haven’t donated, WABA still needs your help. WABA still needs to raise $32,000 in the next three days to meet the fundraising goal for the year.
