According to a Washingtonian report, the volume of water rushing down the Potomac River was measured at 85,700 cubic feet per second yesterday evening. That’s five times the average rate of 16,400 cubic ft./sec. and the highest recorded since 1964, 50 years ago.
(The record was set in 1936, at 484,000 cubic ft./sec., more than 5.5 times yesterday’s rate.)
