I stay away from the personal back-and-forth. I just try to add a few factual statements here and there. I’ve noticed at least a few people who aren’t as knee-jerk hostile as before. I know it’s not a major accomplishment or anything, but it doesn’t take much time. I’ve definitely noticed a few cycling fans who have been balancing out the comments. Actually, in recent weeks, it seemed as though the majority of the commenters were positive or at least neutral toward cyclists.
I’ve written to Rep. Moran, the 14th St. Bridge EIS, the Gravelly Point comments section, etc. too. None of this stuff takes that much time. Most of what I have to say is based on thoughts that I’ve gone over many times over the past few years, since I started cycling again.
