ParticipantIf you need some additional equipment for the class, I can help out with some loaner items. I have two Park stands, one is the PRS-20 race stand and the other is an older folding home mechanic stand (but it has a “real” park shop clamp). I also have a truing stand, the usual hex keys and some specialized tools (crank pullers, BB wrenches, pedal wrenches, chain whips, etc.). I’d be happy to lend this stuff out if they’re cared for. Let me know!

Thanks Larry! I’m all set. I’ll only need one stand since it’ll be primarily demo with Q&A where I can hone into specific questions.

ParticipantIt turns out that I’ll be working later than anticipated on Wednesday and having to drive ( acchh, driving to a bike maintenance class, oh the ignominy  ) from Tysons Corner. How long do you imagine the class to go ?

ParticipantI’m going to miss it. Any chance we can convince you to do another one in a few months time at same level? Maybe with a beer or coffee or something. This exactly what I’ve been looking for!

ParticipantI think my bike knows this training course is comming up. I broke a rear cassette-side spoke this morning. I usually don’t carry around the chain whip, park-tool cassette socket and 1 inch crecent wrench. Can I fix this tonight at this event, or should I just get it fixed at lunch. I plan on buying the spoke at lunch no matter what.
My bike would love to be the model for spoke maintenance and wheel truing if you need one!

ParticipantAlso, if anyone is interested in going tonight but is worried about biking back toward Vienna/Fairfax/Falls Church and points west after the class in the dark, I intend to bike back on the W&OD to Vienna then take the surface streets to Fairfax, and would love some company for any portion of the ride. I figure safety in numbers, no?

ParticipantGreat idea! I’m in Falls Church, so count me in until then.

ParticipantI won’t be working on anyone’s bikes at the clinic. This is instructional and Q&A only. The library cannot have multiple bicycles inside, and are making special accommodation for us as it is.
See you there!
