Interesting Article on CNN – Coming to your bicycle: wireless braking?

99.9999999999997% reliability sounds good…but what about when you forget to change the battery? Cool idea though, especially once they make it a little smaller and less noticeable.

I saw that while back in another article. As most of you know, I’m all for gadgets and gizmos on my bike (and all my other modes of transport). Someone in Rock Creek Park looked at my bike and said “Wow, you have hundreds of pounds of ultra lightweight equipment on there!”.

With that said, this is very cool but no thanks. When someone or something cuts me off, I do not need to get “Not ready reading brake A. Abort, Retry, Fail?” If there was a wire going to brake controller and two redundant batteries, I’d do it. I’m cool with fly by wire. But not fly wireless.
