Dropped off my car for service today and was greeted by a pair of bikes out in the middle of the entryway. Interesting, but not sure what that’s all about….until I saw the sign at the cashier’s window:

Neat suggestion and great alternative to the standard service loaner. The bikes themselves (With Volkswagen labels, even) may not be the best in terms of quality or set up, but I certainly appreciate the alternate suggestion. This prompts some questions:

    – If no one knows about these until they actually show up, how can folks plan to use these?
    – Have they found that customers take advantage of these bikes, or are they purely for show?

Previously, I have stayed at various hotels that offer bikes for guests’ use. Has anyone else seen bikes offered by other businesses for this sort of use?

This is a great idea…usually I take my bike with me on the rack, drop off my car and ride to work then ride back to pick it up!

I’ve gotten used to taking my folder when I drop my car off, my wife supports not having to pick me up. :)
