In all seriousness, have fun and I don’t have any specific questions — just make sure all the bike manufacturers know there are long haul commuters out there and we’d love more of a selection of bikes with all the features we need. Your example is a good one.

Oh lordy I want to have your babies!!!!

It has been DECADES since I went to Interbike and it has gotten way cooler. Maybe next year. :D

I could use a cute pink set of King R45 hubs (for campy 11s cogs) if they’re giving them away. ;)

    Have a great time!

The 2012 CX bikes have disk brakes! The first pic above is the Felt version. The Jamis Nova Race has disk also, and price is very reasonable, but we haven’t seen that one yet. The Jamis Super Nova in the pics has the cantilever brakes, but with a new vibration reducing gizmo that seems to really work to prevent squealling and grabbing in the wet (we were able to test since it rained yesterday!) Tonight, hopefully, we’ll get pictures from Cross Vegas.

I was checking out the new Reynolds carbon tubular disc wheels for cross bikes too. Super cool to see.

UCI has decided (in their infinite wisdom) that discs are now legal for cross racing so you’ll see many more disc-equipped cross bikes coming out.

Yep, and that finally means I can get a dedicated CX/commuter bike! Didn’t want one without disc brakes.

But it’ll have to wait until next year at the earliest.

Tell the manufacturer wizards that they need to come up with a cable and u-lock design that is super strong and super light. Hauling around a heavy duty U-lock is a form of weight training I could do without.

And tell them they need to produce more bikes for short women. Trust me, any lady under 5’2″ has a hard time finding frames that fit properly, esp since most bikes seem to have a men’s style crossbar.
