TEAM CAPTAINS – If you haven’t done so already, please create your team club on Strava and invite all your team members to join.

RIDERS ASSIGNED TO TEAMS – Please join your team club ASAP! If you haven’t joined by next Friday (January 18) you’ll be dropped from your team and substituted by someone on the wait list.

EVERYONE ON THE WAIT LIST – Based on what happens above, I will create an additional team(s) based on the number of people on the wait list.

EVERYONE ELSE – You can still late register to be put on the wait list and there’s a good chance (but no promises) that you’ll be able to play. My goal is to have everyone who wants to play, play since that’s ultimately the spirit of Freezing Saddles. The more, the merrier.

If you have any questions, please PM me.

    Happy trails,
    Chuck

How would someone get onto the Friends of BAFS if they need to reauthorize?

That is a good question. But revoking the authorization and then doing it again worked. That’s why I don’t get involved in the tech part of this.

Shot in the dark guess from me: Greenbelt and Rod, did you catch this year’s security authorization change to read private info from your Strava profile? (Click the 2nd option and resubmit to be sure) https://freezingsaddles.org/authorize
Grandfathered-in authorization from previous years won’t work anymore in the BAFS website, but probably look the same on the Strava groups.

Yes, I think that was the problem. Thanks!

I’m not entirely sure why this is happening, but I think that Strava changed the way the authorization process worked – stuff on the backend that most users would never see, but that people trying to tap into their API would have to deal with. When in doubt, re-authorize.

Got it, thanks. I was authorized and showing up earlier this week so it’s odd that I had to reauthorize. I authorized access to private rides this time, although none of my rides are private but that solved the problem. :)

FYI this is all Strava’s fault and not the BAFS web team

I’m guessing it’s because we have joined private clubs. Last year I did not have the club set to private when we started. I just booted people who didn’t belong. Just one of the many wonders of trying to figure out all this dumb programming and code.

Ok. How about I change “dumb” to “complicated”. Will I avoid a fight? I’m trying to behave this year!!
