    Little-known fact: The Ironman triathlon brand does not actually refer to the difficulty of the race. In the 1970s, musicians from the bands Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, The Clash, Sly and the Family Stone and The Beatles competed in an impromptu swim/bike/run race. It was there that the aerodynamic benefit of the mullet was first discovered. In honor of Black Sabbath’s win, the race was named in honor of their song “Iron Man”.
