    Welcome aboard!

Running and cycling go great together. In fact, I ran across the street the other day… ;)

Seriously though, I used to run when my knees were still ok and it made me a better climber on the bike. New bikes do make it easier and more comfortable than the good old days too.

Welcome! Since you are in the Falls Church area, you should check out the Sunday Morning Coffee Rides that Bikenetic puts on. Usually leaving the shop around 8am. (Check the shop’s Facebook page for additional info, as while this is a regular thing, sometimes the ride leader needs to take a weekend off.)

I’ve done exactly one Sunday ride so far and it was great. I was planning to do Tues Hills this morning as well, but I didn’t manage to fall asleep until after 2 and decided against it. I also REALLY want to sneak in a Friday hooky gravel ride.

Lucky for you, there is also Weds Hills, courtesy of @Subby.

Tell me more about these Wed Hills if you don’t mind. I did a little poking around and searching and came up empty.

And if you’d rather just talk about riding, there are coffee clubs every single day of the week.

Sure. I think they start from corner of Rockingham and Powhatan at 6:10. Ping Subby on FB to get added to the invite, I think. (Or Pete can probably send it to / tag you, etc.)

Yes! Friday Hooky Rides are the best! On the rare occasion I can sneak in a Friday off, I join Pete. I will be doing at least a couple a little later in Spring to ramp up my mileage for DK200 training. We will have to coordinate!
