I hope everyone was able to get out today

Weather was beautiful and on my travels today I came across more organized events than I’ve ever seen before.

On the W&OD there was:
Paul’s Ride for Life – 10/20/50 miles
Leesburg 5K run

In Lovettsville there was another ride going on but I don’t know the name. Some of the guys were talking about someone having a bad crash unfortunately.

On the C&O there were a bunch of crazies:
50K run
100 mile run
100K/50K hike

Talk about a lot to do!

Missed yesterday and road today through the Rock Creek area.

Ran a 5K on Friday (and later learned that the fast woman toward the front of the race was a member of the British Olympic marathon team last summer!) and did a hard 3-hr. bike workout yesterday. Didn’t have much energy for a planned run today, so I’ll push that to tomorrow, even with rain in the forecast. (Rain while running doesn’t bother me. Rain while biking does, mostly because I have to spend time after the ride cleaning and lubing the bike.)

Spent the beautiful afternoon on Saturday in the garden (planted over 150 plants in our garden over the weekend, over 200 in our church’s plot for afac, both with help from wonderful people — all edible). Happily, I got to bike to the hardware/garden store for random things we forgot. Sadly, the hardware store is only a block away. Truly an amazing day.
