Upon closer inspection, the sidewalk option for bypassing rush hour morning traffic on westbound Huntington is still not a reality. The new sidewalk almost looks like it’s deliberately designed to be hostile to cyclists – you have a curb ramp that is 90 degrees to the road (for pedestrians crossing Huntington between this new building and the Metro station) and the other curb ramp requires an immediate 90 degree turn.
The bigger issue is the sidewalk further west is obstructed by huge chunks of dirt.
So if you’re looking to commute this way during morning rush hour, you’re still stuck with either waiting in lane behind backed-up cars waiting to turn right onto Telegraph, or taking your chances filtering between said cars and the curb until you can reach the auto shop.
