A new weekly coffee club is starting tomorrow at Best Buns in Shirlington, in case you missed the previous post in which Consularrider suggested this great idea. Best Buns opens at 6 a.m., but I expect that most of us generally won’t get there until 7 a.m. or so. Pete will be there starting on the early side tomorrow. Bring your copies of “Best Bike Rides Washington DC” and get page 148 signed by Mr. Dirt hisself! More details are in the Scavenger Hunt thread below.

I plan to get there between 7 and 7:15. Will be riding my reconstituted Giant hybrid without studded tires.

I plan to be there. We’ve missed you too! (Not sure yet if I’m riding in, though. I might give the FMR/MVT between Eads Street and Gravelly Point one more day. It sounds like the rest is ok.)

I think that what I’ll actually do is ride in via bus/metro and CaBi, then ride home on a bikeshare bike. :)

After missing last week, I don’t want to miss another!
I’ll have to leave home early, because my route will be a little longer than usual since it includes a beak, olive branch, right wing, and tail feathers.

A reporter from the Washington Post may join us this morning to talk to us about winter bike commuting.

Really good turn out this morning. Too bad I had to leave before the reporter arrived.

The last time I had one of those I was laid up in bed for almost a week.

Kel and RandoGuy were there when the reporter arrived. It was fantastic to have someone other than me to talk to her. :D Thanks so much for taking a few minutes to talk.

Good to see y’all this morning!

Just curious what time the Washington Post reporter thought bike commuters went to work?

She drove to the interview and got stuck in traffic.

Her original plan was just to talk with me. I asked her to show up early and talk to some other folks that were there ’cause I’m freaking borrrrrinnnngggggg. Worked out well.

Funny! I always sing along, “Isn’t it ironic, well not in the traditional sense. . .”

Another HDCC with lousy trail conditions. Hope to see some of you there.

I have to see how I’m feeling in the morning. My back was bothering me all day. If it is feeling better, then I’ll see you bright and early. If I’m not doing well, I’m gonna lay low for another day.
