Picked up a great jogging stroller from a lady at work on the cheap, but it’s been stored here for a week while I came up with a solution. I couldn’t pull it because it would just crash into me every time I hit the brake, and I couldn’t push it because… well I’m not insane. Driving is not an option; I bike to work, period.

    Solution!

Affixed my new Burley trailer to the commuter bike this morning (as an added bonus, threw my backpack in the trailer) and rode in with it otherwise empty. Wheeled the stroller out of the office, popped the wheels off, folded it up, and miraculously, it FIT! Those Burleys can hold a ton of cargo! A few strategic bungie cords later and my commuter bike now has a trailer, carrying a stroller, attached to the back. Should make for an interesting ride home in the dark, in the rain.

And who says life isn’t an adventure?!

I’ll snap a photo when I get home, it’s kinda funny to look at.

I see quite a few commuters with child seats on their bikes, but they have a backpack rather than a kid sitting in it. In other words, they are using it as a rack rather than a child carrier. I wonder if all of them even have a kid!

I’m one of those people. I usually switch the backpack off my back and into the child seat after I’ve dropped the precious baby off at day care and ride the rest of the way into work…

    How to get it home?

Push it down the centerline of the trail like the Mom’s do. Extra points if you get a friend with one so you take up the whole trail.

If ya can’t fight ’em….. lol

Did you get the Burley Travoy trailer? I keep hearing good things about those.

Burley Solo, it’s actually used but in nearly mint condition. Original owner took great care of it. Hopefully I don’t damage it with the massive aluminum contraption I have wedged in it.

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I forgot to dump the camera, but the rig performed beautifully. Could barely tell it was back there, and made it to a top speed of 24mph going through Herndon.

And yes, I have too many cars for someone who never drives them.

Nice! Cool to see people moving stuff by bike. :D I’m a cyclist and I approve of this post. ;)
