I wonder if RaceDots could also perform this function? Not that I need to know personally, of course :) Just curious.

On the other hand, not using the penny could win you a Pointless Prize!

some commenters on slate mentioned magnets as a way to avoid a wrinkly skirt.

I’ve already flashed most of DC via windy days outside/metro escalator winds/walking across the key bridge in the skirt. I wish I knew I could have won a prize for it had I been on a bike ;)

My wife rides in summer dresses every day… and has been known to pull a Marilyn Monroe accidentally, her solution is to wear cycling shorts underneath so when the inevitable happens it’s not such a big deal.

My advice on how to bike in a skirt, which is not much related to flashing people, is to be very, very careful if you favor loose, floaty skirts. Making sure it is not long enough to catch in the chain/chainring is, probably, obvious. Making sure it can’t get caught in your rear brakes may be less obvious. um, for some people, anyway.:o Pure speculation* on my part, but it’s theoretically possible that getting a loose, floaty skirt tangled up between rear brakes and tire will ruin your skirt and make forward motion on the bicycle somewhat more challenging than normal.

*on a totally unrelated note may i interest you in some oceanside property in kansas?

Wouldn’t an old fashioned safety pin work just as well? I guess the only issue with that idea is possible tearing if you move the wrong way.
