Solar charger to keep my cell phone charged on those long bike rides/pedicab days.
I also have some simple stuff like a new U-lock, new helmet, and a merino wool cycling cap.
I am also asking for these for Freezing Saddles:

ParticipantAlll I want is for the National Park Service to pave and treat the Mount Vernon Trail after snow and ice storms. (I went 0-5 for bike commutes this week for the first time in month and months.)

ParticipantHaving just gotten a new bike (too late for Small Business Saturday, which was Thanksgivakuh weekend) I don’t really feel I should have a wish list. But I am in the market for a new U lock, and for a new light.
My advocacy wish list is headed by my desire for FFX County to speedily approve the Bike Master Plan. And for lots and lots of people to try out biking to Tysons in the weeks left before the Silver Line opens.

Why is that?

To increase the visibility of biking in an area where its far better that people find ways to access the metro that do not involve driving and trying to park, and where many people who will use the metro live outside walking distance. Biking can be an ideal solution for access to the Silver Line stations from McLean, North Vienna, Pimmit Hills, and perhaps even close in parts of Great Falls. But AFAICT its an area where lots of people just don’t think biking is possible. Large numbers of people biking could have a demonstration effect for on the fence would be bike commuters and for folks who haven’t even thought of biking. And of course it might get motorists more aware of the presence of cyclists. Hopefully this will set the stage for large numbers of people accessing the stations by bike on the day the line opens, and in subsequent weeks.

ParticipantAdvocacy Wish List:
1) For Arlington to put the trails under the purview of roads, and put them on the same maintenance program.
2) For Arlington to start counting throughput in terms of people (not cars)
3) For NPS to… oh, NPS. Parks are for people. Ideally, you would recognize that and do things like monitor speeds on the the GWMP, allow bikes where bikes should be allowed, and prioritize making the NPS land around this area safe for PEOPLE, not cars. Realistically, I’ll take recognizing that the MVT is a thoroughfare for this area, and treating it (width, maintenance, snow clearing, etc) accordingly.
4) For DoD to put CaBi at the Pentagon, allow two way biking in ANC and open up the Fort Myer Gates (including the gate at Pershing) at least 8am-8pm.
5) For DDOT to plow/treat the sidepaths on the bridges
6) For Police everywhere to realize they’re not doing their job if they’re not enforcing the laws that protect human lives — including those laws that protect cyclists and pedestrians.Stuff Wish List:
A bike that fits perfectly, is light, handles zip-i-ly, has beautiful, effective fenders, accommodates wide tires, has a strong rack, has a dynahub with good lights, and has an internal hub with good gearing.December 13, 2013 at 2:47 pm #988473consularrider

ParticipantDue to space constraints, I am already at S-1, so my wish list is an affordable row house in Columbia Heights with a walk-out basement, and that I can actually allow my children to live in without 2 months of construction work.
Also I’d like a pony.

ParticipantBan all motorized vehicles inside the District of Columbia.
Tear up the pavement on the DC Boundary Stone route and make it a gravel grinder ride. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3659631
Thanks Santa.

ParticipantMy wish is that I have the discipline to ride cautiously and not hit the deck this winter. Not that I did last winter, mind you. Well maybe twice…

Thanks Santa.
I’m more of a compromiser. I’d be cool with banning motorized vehicles on every other street.

I’d be cool with just giving every cyclist a shoulder mounted rocket launcher.
