ParticipantWelcome!
So… where’s the name come from? I owned and dumped too much money into a Nissan for about a decade.

Great to hear there is another Nissan advocate on here! I own a 240sx that I dump entirely too much money into as well. That funding has been cut down significantly however since moving into VA. My Nissan resides in a garage in PA. I know the username is a bit counter intuitive for this forum but I belong to many car-based forums with this as my username. I decided to keep it the same for simplicity reasons.

My Maxima was two cars ago, but I sold the car that replaced it when I moved here to the city. It’s hard to be a car guy in the middle of the city. Bikes fill the hole somewhat… turns out an addictive personality with wheeled vehicles translates to pedal-powered pretty easily.
Take care of that 240! Too few of them left un-destroyed.

ParticipantWooo Nissan fans represent.
Welcome to the group.
In the real world I’m an Infiniti master tech and Nissan/Infiniti super fan. I accidentally turned old and had to get rid of my J30 and instead of getting the late 90s Q45T I wanted, I ended up with a slightly more adult car. I actually moderate over at the nico forum.
Have you taken the typical obsessiveness 240 owners have and applied it to your bikes? I know my knack for tinkering has cost me more money on a bike than even on cars.
Cheers,

ParticipantFormer 83 280ZX owner and Nissan tech here. I was already into 2 wheels when I bought that car back in the day. Sure was hard putting rollers in the back of that thing come race day. Ttops were nice.

ParticipantOne of the first things that attracted me to a girl I dated in college was the noise her 280Z made when it started up. And once we actually started dating, she never wanted to ride in my truck, and never wanted to drive, so she “made” me drive the 280 around all the time.

ParticipantI loved my ’72 Datsun 510. That thing was soooooo much fun.
I wish I still had it.

That’s the exact same year and model I had for many years. I loved that car! I installed a killer sound system in it and was in car heaven until the car finally bit the dust. Ah, memories!

I have the oddest love for the J30… I looked into getting one a few years ago but I was told the packaging wouldn’t work out for a VG30DETT swap. This was before the VQ35 came out in RWD packaging in the Z33. Wonder if anyone ever did that swap…
Anyway, bikes!

ParticipantSomewhere out there, people on a Nissan forum are talking about bicycles.

Very cool! I frequent NICO. I find the users slightly more mature than other 240-specific forums. I hate to admit that 240 owners do not have the best of reputations in the car community for good reason.
The obsessiveness has definitely tranferred. I had a brand new full carbon/ultegra bike that rode great when I moved here and what have I done? Traded it for something older and bought a second one so I always have something to work on/tinker with.
Let the good times roll
