Pete, three years ago you were the first person to welcome me, a middle-aged novice who did not know road bikes didn’t have kickstands or kit had to match to this community.

You’ve welcomed everyone who has come to this forum, you’ve patiently offered suggestions, advice, and recommendations about bikes, bike gear, places to ride, and how to behave.

You have been consistently positive and upbeat about cyclists, motorists, and sharing the road.

We really should have an advocacy award in your name.

Oh wait, we will.

Sharing the sentiments of Dirt and ACC, although I should note that the kit of this community is incredibly broad, ranging from sweaters, khakis and boat shoes to corsets and tutus. Jeans and team kits fit somewhere in there too.
