And it looks like we may get our first 100 degree day in 2012 on the first full day of summer tomorrow – quite fitting.

So hill repeats are not a good idea? :D

Should be an interesting ride back today. I drove halfway to alleviate some of the climbing I normally encounter on my way home.

Even the heat last night at the Freshbike’s Tuesday Night Hill Ride had a lot of people riding slower.

The climb in Glencarlyn is in the shade. ;)

It was brutal. I ran out of water. Don’t ever do that

But I lose so much more weight on a ride without water.

I wish I had known you were there–I would have liked to meet some more forum people. What kit were you wearing?

So you would not advise beating the heat by attending happy hours before heading home, haha.

We actually cross paths all the time, but I’ve never introduced myself as a forum member. I wear the Gripped kit .

Astronomical summer begins, but meteorological summer began on June 1. Sadly, the summer solstice also marks the start of increasingly shorter days for the next 6 months.

I generally hate to be an Eeyore but I thought the same thing, headlight and ninja season are just around the bend. I love being able to ride my whole morning ride in daylight but only get that for about 2 months a year. Of course, not getting heat stroke is kinda nice too ;-)

At least there’s a reasonable number of daylight hours until about September. But I start noticing the shorter days by mid-August.

As for the heat, bring it on! I much prefer hot summer weather to Arctic winter weather. (Even though last winter was pretty mild, I get uncomfortable in any temperatures below 40. I layer up but I still have to breathe in that cold air. Plus I hate wearing all that bulk in January.)

Am so glad I’m in London this week where we are looking at mid-70s and 60s. Unfortunately heavy rain tomorrow with not much better for the rest of the week. Booo!

Blonde? Talking with J.B. at in front of the shop before the ride started? Say “Hi” next time, darnit!!
