ParticipantLooking ahead: Perhaps a party-paced Gravel Ride on 8/25? This will be my last gravel ride before going to Idaho the next weekend. I’m thinking of riding the tandem.

What’s the scoop on your Idaho ride? I just did the Ride Idaho ride last week in the panhandle (Coeur d’Alene, Sandpoint, Thompson Falls, Wallace et environs.) Two years ago the ride was in the Sawtooths which was just gorgeous.
My family is from SW Idaho, where, except for some areas around the Snake River, the riding is not… great, unless you like lots of flat corn and sugar beet fields with all the roads laid out in a mile-square grid pattern… and chip-sealed within an inch of their lives…
You might need to bring a respirator. The whole state is one smoky mess from fires in central Idaho. There was smoke in Boise over 50 miles away.

It’s on fire at the moment. My thoughts go out to everyone evacuating and fighting the fire. I know people doing both.
I’m going to volunteer and then ride and then volunteer again. It is going to be a weird but fun weekend. My trip will be a whirlwind.

Did you say party? Can I wear my cowgirl costume?
