ParticipantJust as an FYI, the list seems to not include the shops’ intermediate/advanced rides

ParticipantYeah, they didn’t include the cyclelife Saturday morning ride nor the Thursday hour of power ride.

ParticipantAnyone know if the old dude Lanterne Rouge ride is still happening out of Java Shack on either Saturday’s or Sundays?
Some other rides of note that may or may not be active (not really shop rides but generally open to all)
-Wednesday: NCVC Arlington Hill Climb (From Big Wheel Bikes on Lee)- usually 2 groups, one designed to hurt you the other less drop-oriented. Lots of climbing ~20 miles
-Wednesday: Wakefield Hill climb- pretty aggro
-Thursday: Wakefield Night MTB (MORE)
-Wed/Thursday: MTB Meetup (usually Lake Fairfax) http://www.meetup.com/mountainbikes-134/
-Sunday (Nov-Feb): Espresso Ride ~50 miles from Dean & Deluca in G’town out to Potomac and back; possibly the biggest group ride in town. A and B group with an Alpha/masochist group that sprints up and down the Great Falls road.
-Saturday (Nov-Feb): NCVC “Cabruce” clinics- awesome intro to road riding/racing.June 20, 2012 at 1:14 pm #943508txgoonie
Participant– Lantern Rouge still goes out of Java Shack on Saturdays at 9. That’s a Whole Wheel Velo ride. (A friend on that team also told me that there’s a ride out of Belle Haven on Thursdays, but I don’t know if that’s WWVC or Potomac Pedalers. Incidentally PP has a lot of rides all over the place in DC/VA/MD every week http://www.potomacpedalers.org/)
– I’m not sure but the Espresso ride might also be the “Coppi Ride” (as known on the VA side of the river). Anybody know? They leave from Java Shack around 8:30 on Sundays. I’ve never done it, fully expecting to be shelled within about 2 minutes, but I’d like to flog myself on it someday.
– NCVC will let you check out the winter Cabruce clinic once or twice, but they expect you to become a club member if you want to participate.
– For the mountain bikers: there are tons of rides listed on the MORE site. http://www.more-mtb.org/forum/ There’s a weekly ladies ride at Wakefield starting up in July, which unfortunately conflicts with the Tuesday Conte’s/Freshbikes hill rideWhat to do?

Participant– Saturdays around 9 (?) District Velocity Racing (DVR) has a team ride (i.e. very fast, think there’s A and B, but both are fast) leaving from Java Shack.
– Sundays around 10 (?) the Bicycle Pro Shop in Georgetown has its shop ride, leaving from the shop (basically at the Gtown end of Key Bridge). I think the B is no drop. Since BPS sponsors DVR, it’s a similar group. -
